Freighter hit by yacht
The 'Volgo-Don 177' was hit by the Russian motor yacht 'Kolibri' on Sep 23, 2021, at 4.50 p.m. while proceeding on the Sheksna River in position 59 03 28.8N, 037 42 32.4E, on the Volgo-Balt Canal, 6.5 nautical miles west of Cherepovets. The yacht was helmed by by a 67-year-old resident of Cherepovets, who ggot into the ship's course without navigation lights and touched the cargo vessel with its mast. As a result of the collision, the mast of the yacht broke, wile the cargo vessel was not damaged. The yacht's skipper has been threatened with deprivation of rights and a fine.
