Russian spy ship cabable of sabotage observed for several days in area of critical infrastructure

Fri Oct 27 09:16:48 CEST 2023 Timsen

For several days in October, the 'Evgeniy Goriglezha' from Putin's secret military program Gugi sailed around Danish waters. The spy ship is also capable of carrying out sabotage on critical infrastructure on the seabed and sailed with armed soldiers on board. It arrived in Danish waters in the evening of Oct 14 and first stopped around Fehmarn island, where the ship sailed across a small area where the new tunnel will be located. Only after more than eight hours did a German Coastguard ship arrived at the Russian vessel in the Fehmarn Belt. After more than a day in the Fehmarn Belt, the ship proceeded northward through the Great Belt on Oct 16 and was later observed by the Danish patrol ship 'Diana', which escorted the vessel onward at around 8 p.m. The Defense Command can answer questions regarding the matter next week at the earliest.

Russian spy vessel in the Baltic Sea

Sun Oct 22 13:22:50 CEST 2023 Timsen

The new Russian research ship 'Yevgeniy Gorigledzha', believed to be used for espionage, sailed along the Dutch coast on Oct 19, 2023. Shortly after entering the North Sea, the ship switched off its AIS transmitter. It was officially launched at the end of August. The 'Yevgeny Gorigledzhan' (also Evgeniy Gorigledzhan) is an oceanographic vessel, formally designed for bottom research and underwater work. However, it is part of the Russian secret military program GUGI, which was set up during the Cold War to keep an eye on the enemy. Ships from the military program have previously been linked to espionage activities near undersea data cables. Baltic Sea. The 'Yevgeny Gorigledzhan' appeared on Oct 14, in the Baltic Sea, near Germany. It probably departed shortly before from the port of Kaliningrad, where the vessel was built in the Yantar shipyard. The ship is equipped with at least two mini-submarines and radar equipment. It also has the ability to deploy underwater drones.
