Inventory levels of gasoil and diesel held in ARA storage tanks edged up by a modest 17,454 MT, according to the latest set of Wood Mackenzie flight data. This follows a significantly larger GO/ULSD stock build recorded in the previous week’s flight data—just over 100 KMT.
Cargo shipping activity in ARA, as tracked in the European Waterborne Products Report, closely anticipated both of the recent stock builds. Historically low ARA distillate inventories have drawn substantial import volumes into the European and North African markets in recent months. These cargoes have primarily originated from the US Gulf, the Red Sea, the Mideast Gulf, and India’s West Coast export refineries. Despite the recent increases, ARA GO/ULSD stock levels remain well below the figures typically seen at this time of year in 2023 and 2024.
