Crew member missing on Atlantiic
On May 3, 2024, the 'Ambience' reported a missing crew member during the final stage of its world cruise en route from Lisbon to Tilbury. Shortly after breakfast he failed to report for duty. Eventually, an extensive search was initiated by the cruise line to locate the missing crew member along with the Spanish Coast Guard. The cruise ship started retracing its previous route in the Atlantic Ocean west and South of A Coruna and West and North of Vigo, to locate the missing crew member. On May 5, the ship arrived in Tilbury.
16 migrants rescued off Punta Polacra
The 'Ambience', en route from Leixoes, rescued 14 men and two women, one of them pregnant, from a skiff which located about 20 miles southeast of Punta Polacra, off the coast of Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park (Almería), on Aug 17, 2023, at around 10.50 a.m. They were disembarked at the port of Palma de Mallorca, where the cruise ship berthed at the Dique del Oeste Multipurpose Terminal on Aug 18 at 8.20 a.m. UTC. All castaways were of Maghreb origin and have Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian nationalities.
Medevac in Tilbury
On June 21, 2022, around 7 a.m. the Coastguard and a boat of the RNLI Gravesend were called to the 'Ambience' at the Tilbury Cruise Terminal, across the river from Gravesend. One passenger had to be medevaced due to an urgent medical emergency. A Coastguard helicopter hoisted the patient on a stretcher. Before, the 'Ambience' had come to the London Ferry Terminal Tilbury very quickly, escorted by a tug and the helicopter.
