The vessel was the first to carry iron ore mined at the operation in Koolyanobbing under new owner Mineral Resources, after it acquired the operation in a sale announced just three weeks before shipping and rail out of Esperance was due to cease. Cliffs Asia Pacific Iron Ore announced they would cease mining operations at Koolyanobbing in the January.
