All passengers disembarked in Singapore

Wed Mar 11 12:38:09 CET 2020 Timsen

On March 10 at midnight all 1,631 passengers had disembarked from the 'Costa Fortuna' after it berthed at the cruise centre in Singapore. The vessel had earlier been refused permission to berth in Thailand and Malaysia because it had a number of Italians on board. It had been scheduled to stop in Phuket, Penang and Port Klang. The 'Costa Fortuna' was carrying about 60 Italians. In Singapore, all the passengers were found to be well. All foreign passengers were to be conveyed by midnight directly to the airport or to their respective hotels. All of them would leave Singapore within the next two days.

Cruise ship returned to Singapore after being barred from Thailand and Malaysia

Tue Mar 10 12:16:29 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Costa Fortuna' which had been barred from Thailand and Malaysia due to coronavirus fears has returned to Singapore on March 10, 2020, one week after it set sail from the city-state. Passengers were ushered to waiting coaches and ferried away in the morning. No cases of infection with the new virus has been confirmed in the ship. Singapore authorities previously said doctors would check people before they disembarked. The ship was refused docking in Thailand because it carried 64 Italians. Singapore allowed the ship to dock because it had been scheduled and all passengers on board had been screened before the ship sailed.

Medevac off Mahón

Wed Oct 09 09:50:37 CEST 2019 Timsen

On Oct 8, 2019, the captain of the 'Costa Fortuna', which was enroute from Valencia to Civitavecchia, requested the medevac of a 71 year old passenger who had suffered cardial issues. Salvamento Marítimo appointed the SAR boat "Salvamar Antares" to take the patient off. It rendezvousedd with the cruise ship near Mahón and took the man to shore for further medical care.
