DFDS reviews Belgium-UK-Norway operations
DFDS has reviewed its Belgium-UK-Norway services and will introduce the 1,891-lanemetre FINLANDIA SEAWAYS – withdrawn from Zeebrugge-Rosyth following her engine room fire and immediate closure of the route in mid-April – on a weekly Zeebrugge-Immingham-Brevik-Frederikstad-Halden-Brevik-Zeebrugge rotation.
Ferry under tow to Odense for repairs
The "Finlandia Seaways" has left the port of Immingham on May 17 at 9.20 p.m., being towed by the Dutch tug "Viking" (IMO: 9431903), bound to the Fayard AS shipyard in Munkebo/Odense for repairs of fire damage suffered on Apr 16. It arrived at the Lindoe Shipyard OSS on May 22 at 12.50 a.m. Danish report with photos: http://www.soefart.dk/article/view/603451/brandskadet_dfdsskib_ankom_til_munkebo
Ferry to be towed to drydock
The "Finlandia Seaways" was to be towed to a repair facility around May 16 as the damage was extensive. Negotiations were currently ongoing with the repair facility prior to a contractual agreement being signed. The vessel will then be under repair for another extended period of time at the designated shipyard for what sounds to be another month at least. The ferry may be fully operational and trading again approximately from the 3rd week of June.Upload News
