Lady Zona adrift in Dardanelles

On Aug 13, 2021, the 'Lady Zona' suffered an engine malcunction en route from sidon to Braila off Kumkale in the Çanakkale Strait and was taken in tow by the tug 'Kurtarma-6' of Coastal Safety. The ship was moored anchored at Karanlık Liman Bölges after the captain of the drifting ship reported the situation to the Çanakkale Strait Ship Traffic Services Directorate (VTS). Repairs were commenced by the crew, and the ship remained moored in pos. 40° 0.76' N 026° 15.62' E. Engine failure in the Kerchenskiy Strait

The "Spania", while en route from Yeisk to Turkey, suffered a main engine failure in the Kerchenskiy Strait on July 8, 2018, at noon. The vessel dropped its port side anchor in the canal in the area of buoys No.33 and 34, and the crew commenced engine repairs. At 12.50 p.m. the main engine was started and by 1.15 h p.m. the vessel got underway and continued its passage.
