Fire on Burgas anchorage
On Aug 22, 2013, the "Steamer" caught fire on the anchorage of Burgas, Bulgaria, while waiting to take a cargo of scrap in port. The fire was reported at 2:46 p.m. Two patrol boats headed to the ship. One of them starteddousing the fire, while the second one, jointly with a Coastguard cutter, started evacuating the ship crew. An ambulance arrived, in case any of the sailors needed medical treatment. A maritime rescue unit was called at 3:20 p.m. to coordinate the fire fighting attempts.
