A video has emerged..
..captured on the bridge when the 'Arvin' broke in two. It shows how the foreship starts separating from the aft in the high swell, while the crew is issuing a mayday call. Ukrainian sailors stated that it took five minutes from the time the ship cracked until it sank. The wind began to increase strength from 11.00-11.30 a.m., the wave heightss reached 6 meters. They heard the ship crash and the alarm sounded. The signal was sent that the ship was sinking at 12.20 p.m. The ship sank quickly, in about five minutes. Rescued sailors returned home
Five Ukrainian crew members of the 'Arvin' have arrived in Odesa on Jan 20. Now the sailors were on the way to meet their families. A search operation was still underway for another three sailors who were still missing of Bartin. On board there were 10 Ukrainians and two Russians. Five Ukrainian nationals and one Russian were rescued.
Search for three missing seafarers continued
The SAR efforts for three missing crew members of the 'Arvin' were underway on Jan 19. Bad weather conditions have hampered the rescue operation by air and sea. Meanwhile, two bodies from the shipwreck found on Monday were identified as Savostin Anatoliy, 28, and Melnychenko Andrii, 26, said the provincial governor's office. Earlier, the body of Captain Galenko Witaly, 37, a Russian citizen, was identified. Of the 12 crew members on board, the bodies of three were recovered and six people were rescued.
