Cooling system damage off Rockabill LH
The 'Afalina', en route from Lisbon to Glasgow, suffered a broken engine cooling pipe and a fault on its colling water system in position 53 33 15 N, 005 27 46 W, about 20 nautical miles east of Rockabill Lighthouse on April 17, 2022, at 07.40 a.m. UTC. the ship was carrying 3.465 tonnes of sunflower pellets. The crew commenced to replace the broken part of the pipe with a new one, and the vessel resumed its voyage at 8.30 a.m. It berthed in Glasgow on April 18 at 3.40 a.m.
Afalina lost deck cargo in storm
The "Afalina" lost about 300-500 cubic meters wood from the main deck on Jan 30, 2016, near the Latvian coast in rough weather. The vessel was underway from Ventspils to Rostock, and was caught in a storm. It was expected the drifting wood would be washed onto the Latvian coast within the forthcoming 3-4 days.
