Aphrodite in trouble off Stralsund
On Sep 12, 2011, the lifeboat "Hertha Jeep" of the DGzRS-Station Stralsund was called to the "Aphrodite" which had encountered engine trouble in stormy weather in the Strelasund north of Parow. The ship was able to anchor, but southern winds of 6 bf made it impossible to proceed to Stralsund. On board was only the Dutch crew of three. The "Hertha Jeep" took the "Aphrodite“ in tow and safely delivered her at the approach of Stralsund. In the meantime the crew had been able to fix the engine and was thus able to get into the port with own power, escorted by the lifeboat.
