DFDS expanded service frequency to Belgium

Sun Jun 18 16:16:06 CEST 2017 arnekiel

Trade between Sweden and Belgium is going from strength to strength. To meet the demand, DFDS is planning to add a fourth vessel on the route between Gothenburg and the Belgian port of Ghent. Cargo volumes between Sweden and Belgium are growing. To meet the demand, the Danish-owned Ro-Ro shipping company DFDS is planning to add a further vessel on the route between Gothenburg and Ghent. This will bring the number of departures each week to eight in both directions, the Port of Gothenburg Authority said. “Although we already have three of our largest vessels operating on this route, all the decks are full. This has led to the decision to expand capacity and create further potential to increase volumes,” said DFDS vice president and route director Morgan Olausson. Ark Germania will begin operating in August, departing from the Gothenburg Roro Terminal. She will carry 190 trailers and 150 cars.

Ark Germania leaves shipyard

Fri Apr 25 07:45:03 CEST 2014 arnekiel

Tugs have pulled the new roro-ship "Ark Germania" on Thursday (Apr. 24) in Stralsund away from the outfitting quay of the insolvent P + S Werft shipyard in Stralsund for sea trials. With the "Ark Germania" the first of two transport ships for the Danish shipping company DFDS has left the yard. The two transporters with a cargo capacity of 185 trucks and 342 containers are to be used later in the DFDS freight service and on demand for military transports of the Danish Armed Forces and the German Armed Forces to crisis areas.
