Fire in generator room

Mon Jul 13 09:34:57 CEST 2015 Timsen

A fire broke out in a generator room of the "Cap Blanche", docked at Fraser Surrey Docks, Vancouver, in the morning of July 12, 2015, shortly after the vessel had completed cargo operations. It was extinguished in a short time. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada sent a team to the docks, and the container ship had to remain docked while TSB officials investigated. The cause of the blaze was a small fuel spill in the generator room. The fire caused minimal damage.

Grounding is getting investigated

Fri Feb 28 11:21:03 CET 2014 Timsen

The Transportation Safety Boardhas decided to launch an official investigation into the grounding of the "Cap Blanche" in the Steveston area on Feb 2, 2014. The "Cap Blanche" was bound for Surrey Fraser Docks from Tacoma, Washington, when it ran aground at Steveston Bend, at the mouth of the south arm of the Fraser River. Even though the vessel was aground for only about 30 minutes, there were sufficient issues for an investigation.
