Engine failure in Bosphorus
On Oct 12, 2024, the 'B Line' suffered an engine failure in front of Akıntıburnu while transiting the Bosphorus while en route from Haifa to Burgas. Bosphorus ship traffic was temporarily suspended in both directions. The tug 'Kurtarma 5' (IMO: 9463164) was deployed to assist. The ship was towed to an anchorage in Ahırkapı under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, accompanied by a Pilot. It was moored in pos. 40° 57' N 028° 54' E.
