Ferry returned to its schedule after repairs
On April 25 the electric filure aboard the "Baltic Princess" was remedied, and normal functions such as luminaires, toilets and air conditioning were working again. Afer it remained unclear if repairs could be finished during the day, finally the ship sailed from Turku to Stockholm at 8.30 p.m., 15 minutes behind schedule, after spare parts have been added all day. There had been problems with the power switch circuit breakers six of which had to be replaced. The ferry berthed in Stockholm on April 26 at 6 a.m.
Ferry suffered power outage
On April 24, 2019, at 12.30 p.m. the "Baltic Princess" suffered an extensive electrical failure in the Åland Sea, and the ventilation partially stopped working after a power outage of 50 %. Two of the ship's four engines stopped, and the food could not be kept warm, the entertainment programme was stopped. The safety of the passengers was not affected. The ferry skipped the call at Mariehamn and continued on its way to Turku. The wind blew with 7 meters per second. At 8.40 p.m. the ship safely reached the port and remained stationary on April 25.
Body of man who jumped over board found
The body of an 18-year-old man who jumped from the "Baltic Princess" on Jan 5 has been found near Nagu. The man was from Salo and the police suspected he jumped into the sea when the vessel was on its way to Turku for unknown reasons. The police had asked for help from the Armed Forces to find the man. Dozens of the Armed Forces diver participated in the operation, using the Navy's system for underwater search. In the evening of Jan 23 the body was found at a depth of 30 meters.News schreiben
