Tug assisted in fire fighting

In the morning of May 24, 2022, a fire broke out aboard the passenger catamaran 'Dion'of Catamaran Cruise, which was docked at the American pier of the port of Elefsina. A patrol boat, a patrol vehicle and the 'Christos XIV' immediately rushed to the quay, where the ship was fully ablaze. The Fire Service also arrived with three fire trucks. The fire was brought under partial control, and a check was carried out on the ship. No marine pollution was observed and no injuries were reported. As a precaution an oil boom was laid out around the ship. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Elefsina.
