Seago Line adds new container ship to Liverpool2 cargo service

Wed Jul 27 10:00:51 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Seago Line has expanded its feeder service from Liverpool with a new vessel. Seago, a subsidiary of global trade and shipping company Maersk, has introduced the 168m-long container ship Independent Accord to its new cargo route between Algeciras in southern spain, Liverpool and Dublin. Launched in April, the service was established to create direct cargo connections to and from the North West of England, Ireland and onwards to the Mediterranean, linking the region with trade in North and West Africa. Maersk Group’s return to Liverpool in the spring was the first time the firm had used the port for UK cargoes in more than a decade. The route is also Maersk’s first ever direct connection with Dublin. The Independent Accord has now replaced the 1,100 TEU Antwerp, which has so far operated the route from the Liverpool2 terminal.
