Fire on pilot tender

The fire brigade in Hoek van Holland was alerted in the evening of Dec 6, 2017, after a fire broke out aboard the "Enterprise" which was moored in the Berghaven in Hoek van Holland. The pilot boat appeared to be full of smoke, which was caused by a short circuit in a motor of the windshield wiper. The boat was on its way to the Berghaven after collecting three pilots. The fire brigade of Hoek van Holland and 's-Gravenzande arrived on site and ensured that the pilot boat was ventilated and that no further damage could occur. The tree employees of the Pilotage Service have been checked for smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel. Eventually one of them was transported to the hospital. Also the KNRM-boat "Jeanine Parqui" attended after the alarm was given by the VRR control room.
