Technical failure off Turkey
The"Maks", en route from Samsun to Rostov-on-Don in ballast, suffered a technical failure on Sep 10, 2019. The vessel sheltered at Sinop anchorage. Repairs were started by the crew. The ship sailed again on Sep 18, bound for Yeist, ETA Sep 21, via Kavkaz anchorage.
Anchor loss at Schouwenbank anchorage
On Jan 17, 2018, at noon the "Maks", while in position 51 47 05N, 003 19 05E, lost its portside anchor and six shackles, at Schouwenbank anchorage. She was anchored at Breskens, Netherlands, in position 51 24 41.49N, 003 34 54.12E, on Jan 19 at 3 a.m.
Ship slammed into lock
On Oct 19, 2017, the "Maks" allided with the lower gate of the Svirstroy lock on the Svir river, being underway from Petrozavodsk to St. Petersburg after repairs without cargo. After a failure of the control system the vessel failed to reverse from forward to astern.The vessel suufered little damage, but the lock’s gate was torn. The "Maks" berthed near the accident site for investigations.
