Disabled reefer drifted into mussel farm

In the afternoon of Dec 17, 2018, the "Green Ocean" was disabled and put in danger the rafts of the mussel farming of O Chazo in the waters of Boiro in Ria de Arousa. The ship had sailed without cargo to the port of Vilagarcía on Dec 16 where a repair was carried out. After the departure to Harlingen the following day at 3.40 p.m. went adrift as a result of an engine breakdown and asked for help. While waiting for tugs to assist, the crew tried to keep the vessel stable, but without success. The wind pushed the ship towards the floating structures at 4 p.m. before a pilot boarded the ship which was then towed by several tugs back to the port of Vilagarcía around 7 p.m. She sailed again on Dec 19 at 11.30 a.m. bound to Harlingen, ETA Dec 22. Crane broke and fell onto freighter's deck

On Jan 30, 2013, at 11.30 a.m. a mobile crane broke down an crashed onto the deck of the "Green Ocean" at the Fishery Quay in Ijmuiden. Railings were smashed and the bulkhead and upper deck affected. No one was hurt in the accident with the crane which was hired by Parlevliet en Van der Plas for unloading of deep frozen fish. The cause of the Crash was still a riddle as the crane of Peter van Duijvenbode was not overloaded and technically sound.
