Crew members hijacked in pirate attack off Lome
The "Histria Ivory" with 21 crem members on board, all of Romanian nationality, was attacked by pirates 20 miles off Lome in Togo waters in the Gulf of Guinea on March 3, 2019, at 7.30 p.m.. The ship was enroute from Freetown to Monrovia. Three of them were kidnapped. The ship sustained damages during the attack and hijack and was om need of some repairs. The remaining crew was not injured. On March 4, the vessel was anchored at Lome anchorage in pos. 06° 6.91' N 001° 17.52' E. Stores stolen in Monrovia
The crew of the "Histria Ivory" which was berthed at Monrovia noticed robber armed with knife in position 06.21.10 N, 10.47.80 W, on Feb 9, 2019. The alarm was sounded, and the robber escaped from the vessel. Stores were reporte stolen to the local agent and the port control. The vessel sailed from Monrovia on Feb 20.
