Steering issue at Nab Anchorage
The 'Icelandica Hav', while enroute from Belfast to Bremen, was steering an erratic course and anchored in position 50 25 57 N, 001 25 29 W, on Feb 28, 2021, at 04.50 a.m., while proceeding to Nab anchorage. The issue was initially reported at 8.20 p.m. A potential issue with the steering was being checked as of 8.45 p.m. The ship remained anchored as of March 2 and was then taken in tow by the Dutch tug 'Sea Bronco'(IMO: 9345491), which had been deployed from Flushing on March 1, to Oostende with an ETA as of March 3, 9 p.m.

The "Icelandica Hav" was detained in Aberdeen Harbour for four days after a Russian crewman was found dead. It was inspected by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency after being directed to Aberdeen following the Russian’s death. The vessel was then held from June 4 to June 12 after several defincies were found, including difficulties monitoring the atmosphere in the ship’s hold. The Russian sailor died after breathing in dangerous fumes while in the hold.
