Officers charged for MARPOL violations
During a MARPOL-control, officials of the water police in Brunsbüttel detected some violations on the "Jag Aabha" on Dec 6, 2016. and charged the 1st officer. Druing the screening of the papers of the vessels, the officials discovered entries indicating a total of 18 unauthorized disposals of foodstuffs off the coast of West Africa. The ship was not on its course at the time of disposal, but lay at anchor or drifted. The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency was informed of the incident. Because of further entry deficiencies in the oil diary, the police officers also charged the Chief Officer. The ship on Dec 7 continued the voyage from Antwerp to Canakkale.
