Allision in Dublin

Mon Mar 02 11:15:46 CET 2026 Timsen

The 'L.É. Samuel Beckett' allided with the quayside of the River Liffey in Dublin on the morning of Feb 26, 2026. The incident occurred during a turning manoeuvre while departing the Sir John Rodgerson's Quay on the south side of the river. A survey of the damage was carried out following the incident, and it was assessed that the ship was in need of minor repairs to the port side stern, which was damaged above the waterline. Once complete, the 'L.É. Samuel Beckett' was to recommence Maritime Defence Security Operation (MDSO) patrols. On March 1, the patrol boat shifted to Cogh.
