Sunday, 21 November 2010 18:26 LT - Coast Guard Action Center received information that a cargo vessel named MV Mara reported fire in the vessel’s engine room while cruising at vicinity some 60 NM southwest of Manila Bay. Immediately, PCG SAR Vessel BRP EDSA 2 (SAR 002) was dispatched to the area. Likewise, the PCG issued NOTICE TO MARINERS (NOTAM) through VTMS for any vessels transiting the same area to render assistance. Coast Guard Action Center was likewise able to establish contact with the Captain of the distressed vessel that fire on board have has been contained and all that crew are safe. PCG
