28 Covid-19 cases on board
Passengers on the 'MSC Preziosa' had to wait more than six hours to disembark at Rio de Janeiro on Jan 2, 2022, due to an inspection by Brazilian health authorities that confirmed 28 cases of COVID-19 on board - 26 passengers and two crew members. Among those who tested positive, people living in Rio or the nearby region could quarantine themselves at home. Others must first isolate in hotels. After the inspection, the 'MSC Preziosa' was authorized by federal health regulator Anvisa to continue operating. Other passengers were waiting to embark for Bahia. Medevac in Lisbon
The 'MSC Preziosa' entered the port of Lisbon earlier than scheduled on Sep 7., 2019, at 12.45 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. due to a medical emergency. The ship was enroute from Casablanca and increased speed to disembark the patient in port and avoiding a situation in which he would have to be taken off on sea. He was transferred to hospital by ambulance.
Medevac off Cuxhaven
On June 16, 2019, a female passenger of the "MSC Preziosa" was medevaced in the Elbe estuary just before midnight. The cruise ship was on the Outer Elbe sailing in the direction of Hamburg when a passenger repeatedly went unconscious,. The lifeboat "Anneliese Kramer" of the DGzRS station Cuxhaven sheaded to the "MSC Preziosa" with ambulance and land rescue service of the fire brigade on board. They stabilized the patient on board the cruise ship. At the height of Cuxhaven's America Port, the lifeboat finally took on board the patient. After mooring in the ferry port, the land rescue service took care of her.
