Medevac off Maspalomas
On Jan 11, 2021, the CCS Las Palmas of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 222 for the medevac of a crew member of the 'MSC Seaview'. The ship was 60 nauical miles south of Maspalomas. The patient showed symptoms of appendicitis. He was safely hoisted and transferred to the Negrín hospital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Multiple quarantined ships off Santos
14 crew members of the 'Log in Jatoba' were tested postive for the new corona virus in Santos on May 14, 2020. The ship, after completing cargo operations, was taken on Santos outer Anchorage, and put under quarantine, which will last until May 26. The 'MSC Giselle' anchored nearby, being under quarantine since May 9 until May 23 after one crew members has been tested positive and taken to hospital. The 'Bárbara' is under quarantine until May 17 at Santos outer Anchorage. The 'MSC Seaview' is quarantined until May 15, and the quarantine of the 'MSC Musica' has ended its quarantine on May 5.
80 crew members tested positive for COVID 19
The 'MSC Seaview' which quarantined in the port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, has an outbreak of the new coronavirus on board. There were 80 crew members diagnosed with the Covid-19 and another 30 waiting for the results of tests by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) as of May 4, 2020. The ship was quarantined on April 30, when ten crew members were tested positive for the new coronavirus.
