Allision off Istanbul

On Aug 14, 2016, at 9.38 p.m. the "Alexandros Theo" was in collision with the Marshall Islands flagged cargo m/v "Ephesus III" on the Ahikapi anchorage off Istanbul after passing the Bosphorus in southern direction. The "Ephesus III" allided with the anchored "Alexandros Theo" which was en route from Varnanto Ghent, the other ship was en route from Tuapse to Alexandria. Both vessels suffered slight damages and anchored near collision site.

Condition of injured crew members unknown

On Aug 5, 2013, the Coast Guard medevaced two injured crew members from a vessel in the Pacific Ocean about 14 miles southwest of the mouth of the Columbia River. The two crew members had sustained burn injuries at about 10:40 a.m. The Coast Guard dispatched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, in Warrenton, and a 25-foot Response Boat Small from Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco to assist. The air crew safely hoisted the two men and transferred them to waiting Emergency Medical Service at Air Station Astoria, according to the Coast Guard. Their conditions and whereabouts were not immediately known in the afternoon. The "Alexandros Theo" entered the Columbia River later in the afternoon. Coast Guard transports 2 burned ship crew members to Astoria hospital

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — A Coast Guard helicopter has transported two burned crew members from a cargo ship about 15 miles southwest of the mouth of the Columbia River. The agency says the operator of the bulk cargo vessel Alexandros Theo called for help Monday morning (Aug. 5, 2013). The Coast Guard sent a helicopter crew from Astoria, Ore., and a response boat from Ilwaco, Wash. The two men were hoisted aboard the helicopter and flown to medics at the Coast Guard's Astoria air station. Coast Guard spokesman Zac Crawford in Seattle says the men did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
