Engine failure off Lowestoft
On Dec 15, 2020, at 12.10 a.m. the 'PTI Nile', while enroute from Paldiski to Tema, suffered an engine failure 40 miles East of Lowestoft, due to an issue with a cylinder and a broken metal gasket. Repairs and tests have been completed on Dec 16 at 12.30 a.m., and the ship continued its voyage with an ETA as of Dec 30.
Tanker attacked by pirates
The 'PTI Nile', enroute from Dakar to Lome, was attacked by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea, 115 nm south of Lome, on Oct 17, 2020, around 8 p.m. The ship stopped soon after the attack. The crew managed to shelter in the citadel. On Oct 18 the ship remained motionless in the position of the alleged incident off Lomé with a Togolese patrol boat on the spot.
