Fire in engine room

On Oct 23, 2015, at 12.30 a.m. the crew of the Dutch flagged, self propelled tank barge "Quadrans II", 3221 ts (EU-No.: 02331647, CS: PB3932; MMSI:244650607), remarked an engine room fire while the ship was on the Hollandsch Diep. The ship was taken alongside the barge "Rossini", and the "KBW 1910" escorted the convoy to a pier in Moerdijk while the crew tried to extinguish the fire with CO2, closed the engine room and shut down the ventilation. Also the fire boat "Drimmelen" and the KNRM Doordrecht assisted. After a control of the engine compartment in port which showed that the fire was out, it was ventilated.
