Ferry suffered steering pump issue
B.C. Ferries cancelled a pair of sailings between Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay in the night of July 14, 2019, after the "Queen of New Westminster" had to be pulled from service due to a mechanical issue and was sidelined at the Tsawwassen Terminal in Vancouver. The 6 p.m. sailing from Tsawwassen along with the 8 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay were both cancelled due to a problem with the vessel’s steering pump. All efforts to accommodate reserved traffic were made by B.C. Ferries.
Sailings cancellled due to propulsion trouble
Propeller problems on the "Queen of New Westminster" caused cancellations on B.C. Ferries routes in the morning of Juy 16. The 8 a.m. sailing out of Tsawwassen and 10 a.m. sailing out of Swartz Bay were cancelled. The mechanical issues on the "Queen of New Westminster" had been fixed, after the same problem caused eight sailings to be cancelled on July 8 and 9. B.C. Repairs to the vessel were complete and sea trial were successful.
Sailings cancelled due to pitch propeller issues
B.C. Ferries has cancelled six sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen in the afternoon of July 8, 2018, due to an ongoing issue with one of the controllable pitch propellers of the "Queen of New Westminster". These sailings have been cancelled: Departing Tsawwassen Terminal 4 p.m. 8 p.m. Departing Swartz Bay Terminal 2 p.m. 6 p.m. 10 p.m. Also the 6 a.m. sailing from Tsawwassen and the 8 a.m. sailing from Swartz Bay on July 9 have been cancelled. Customers with reservations on cancelled sailings were toi be refunded their reservation fee, and they will be accommodated on the next available sailing. These customers need to check-in at the terminal at the check-in time for their original reserved sailing as indicated on their reservation confirmation. This allowed the terminal to queue customers in the terminal in the appropriate loading order. On July 11 the ferry returned to service.News schreiben
