Passenger who was on Rhapsody tested positive for corona virus
A passenger of the 'Rhapsody' was tested positive for the coronavirus virus in Tunis. He did the test only a few days after arriving in La Goulette. The ship berthed in Genova on Feb 28, 2020, at 11.30 p.m. for scheduled maintenance work. It was not in quarantine, as there were no cases detected on board. However, in order to ensure isolation with active surveillance of the domiciled seafarers, there has been temporarily inhibited access to third parties. At the moment there were no reports of any kind from the crew, and there was constant monitoring in collaboration with the authorities in charge.
Medevac off Malaga
On Apr 10, 2018, at 5 a.m. the "Salvamar Alnitak" medevaced an 87-year-old passenger with cardiac arrest from the "Rhapsody" south of Malaga. At 6.16 a.m. the patient was disembarked in Malaga where an ambulance was ready to take him to hospital for further treatment.
First sailing since 2012 completed
The former "Napoleon Bonaparte", having been renamed "Rhapsody" following its acquisition by the Swiss group Mediterranean Shipping Company in 2014, returned to sea on Dec 28, 2015, with a first sailing from Tangier to Sète. The ship had suffered engine room flooding in the night of 27 to 28 October, 2012, after she hit a dock in Marseille.
