Robbers stole ship's stores
The 'Sagittarius' was approached by six robbers in a boat armed with a gun, who were noticed by security patrol after the duty officer found a suspicious echo on the radar, at the Port au Prince anchorage on Jan 4, 2021. The robbers were spotted boarding the vessel using a ladder with hooks. The alarm was raised and the crew retreated into the accommodation. The robbers threatened the Chief Engineer who was attempting to secure an open accommodation door. The incident was reported to the Haitian Coastguard, which responded and boarded the vessel to carry out a search and investigate the incident. Ship's properties were stolen by the robbers. The crew and the vessel were safe.
