Victoria Clipper 3 expected back within a few days
The "Victoria Clipper III", which stopped short of Pier 69 in Seattle in the evening of June 14 after an engine fire forced it to land at Shilshole Bay Marina, will resume service on June 20. Clipper’s regular service with two vessels between Victoria and Seattle was not affected by the fire. The damage from the fire on the turbo insulation in the starboard engine was minimal. Once repairs were made and the engine room has been cleaned and inspected, the boat was expected back in service.

The "Victoria Clipper 3" carrying more than 150 passengers detoured in the evening of June 14, 2013, to dock at a Seattle marina after fire was reported in an engine compartment as the ship returned from a daylong trip to the San Juan Islands. The ship was just off Edmonds, north of Seattle, when the fire was reported in some insulation surrounding one of the turbine engines. The crew sealed that compartment and deployed a chemical fire suppression system, then diverted to the nearby marina. The 159 passengers aboard the catamaran got off safely at the Shilshole Marina. Clipper Vacations sent buses to take the passengers back to the Seattle waterfront pier where they began their trip. The cause of the fire was under investigation. The "Victoria Clipper" crew notified the Coast Guard and Seattle Fire, then headed for a nearby place to dock. The Coast Guard dispatched a 45-foot response boat.
