Cargo ship 'Kristin Picer' helps Coast Guard find sail boat 'Siesta'
Cargo ship Kristin Picer heard the Coast Guard’s request for help finding the crew. When the Panamanian cargo ship Kristin Picer saw the Siesta, they reported it to the guard at around 8:55 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013. The Siesta was about 500 miles northeast of Honolulu. Their satellite phone was not working so they were unable to communicate with their contacts in Honolulu. They were not in any trouble. They did have an emergency position indicating radio beacon and a personal locator beacon on board in case of an emergency.
