Medevac off Neapolis Vion
In the night of Feb 26, 2022, the Port Authority of Neapolis Vion was informed that a 55-year-old crew member of the 'Sider King' had fallen ill, while the ship was en route from Aliaga to Ravenna. The 'Machi' was deployed to take the man off. He was transported to the port of Neapolis Vion and then picked up by an ambulance and taken to the Neapoli Vion Health Center.
Control malfunction off Spurn
The 'Sider King', while enroute from Drepano to Kingston-upon-Hull, had to drop anchor due to an engine control malfunction about 6,5 miles East of Spurn Point in position 53 34 06N, 000 16 50E, on April 10, 2021, at 12.45 p.m. The vessel has safely moored at the Humber deep water anchorage where the main engine was assessed and repairs were carried out. The ship was escorted from Spurn by Humber tugs and arrived at Hull at 6.30 p.m. The vessel required no further assistance.
