Engine failure at Aliaga
The 'Sun S' suffered an engine failure at Aliaga on Jan 8, 2020. Repairs could not be completed by the crew. In the afternoon of Jan 10 the tug 'Yumurtalik' started towing the vessel to Tuzla. During the Canakkale Strait transit, a Coastal Safety tug provided escort service for vessel and strait traffic safety. On Jan 12 the convoy arrived at Tuzla anchorage and entered s shipyard pier where repairs have commenced upon completion of the class surveyor's detailed damage survey and further technical inspections. The ship left again on Feb 13 after completion of repairs and surveys and headed to Istanbul, where it called from Feb 21-22, before proceeding to Braila; ETA Feb 24.
