Tanker boarded by perpetrators
The 'Surya Aki' was boarded by two perpetrators, while anchored in position 03 56 12.0N, 098 45 36.0E, at Belawan on Jan 31, 2021, at 05.35 a.m. One of them was armed with a knife. All the crew took refuge in the citadel and reported the incident to the Belawan authorities. The Indonesian Marine Police boarded the vessel and conducted a search. No perpetrators were found. The crew was safe and some of the ship?s stores were reported stolen, including ropes, cap of a service valve, coupling of an extinguisher and nozzle, a wing nut and emergency hand light of a life raft.
