Repairs in Tuzla underway

A new set of spare parts were provided by the owners of the 'Tango Rio', and repairs were underway in Tuzla. Dry docking survey and bottom section steel thickness measurement were conducted. The deformed locations of steel sections are being replaced in dry dock. Tightness test and welding quality inspection will be carried out, after completion of permanent repairs. Upon completion of permanent repairs, sea trials will be performed under supervision of a class surveyor and an expert from the manufacturer. The vessel remained stationary in the shipyard at Tuzla as of Nov 14.

Disabled ship under tow to Tuzla

The 'Tango Rio', which had suffered a technical failure at Flushing on Aug 1, 2021, was taken in tow by the tug 'Sea Juliett' (IMO:9778387) for permanent repairs in Tuzla, after repair attempts by the crew failed. The towage commenced on Sep 3 with an ETA at Tuzla as of Sep 28.

Ship disabled by engine room fire

The "Sabina" suffered a fire in the engine room on June 19 at 12.20 a.m. off Mulnik, while leaving Swinoujscie, bound for Szczecin with a cargo of phosphate. The fire rescue Strażak-26 was alerted, but the crew extinguished the fire with own means. However, the vessel was disabled for some time. In spite of an emergency anchoring manoever it allided with the embankment. It was then taken back to port by two tugs and moored at the Chemików Quay.
