Engine trouble at Felixstowe Anchorage
The 'TBC Progress', while enroute from Santos to London with 18 crew members on board, suffered an engine fault whilst in the Sunk DWA, in position 51 53 51 N, 001 41 10 E, on Jan 30, 2021, at 11.05 a.m. The vessel has air compressor issues and was unable to start the engine. The 'TBC Progress' dropped a second anchor to stop its drift, while the crew carried out rapairs. The Danish container m/v 'Seago Antwerp' (IMO: 9313905), which was anchored 0.4 miles Southwest of the vessel on its voyage from Coryton to Felixstowe, was made aware of the situation and monitoring the situation. The Sunk VTS was monitoring and coordinating communications with the vessel which was carrying 30.000 tonnes of sugar as cargo on board. After the crew completed the repairs and tested its engine, the vessel heaved anchor to proceed to a new anchorage position. It moored in pos. 51° 56.14' N 001° 42.44' E on Felixstowe Anchorage where it remained stationary as of Feb 1.
