Wrecked vessel towed to Stokksund for recycling

On Aug 3, 2025, the 'Torvang' was towed to Stokksund in order to be demolished. The ship had sunk at the quay in Hendvågen on May 23 and was lifted the sheerleg 'Hebolift 9 from July 23 to July 28, when it was floating unassisted again. The Kristiansund Taubåtservice was contracted to finalise the last voyage and deployedthe tug "Waterlord" from Sunndalsoera, which took the ship in tow and pulled it to Fosen in Trøndelag. Wreck back on even keel

On July 22 the wreck of the 'Torvang' was successfully righted at the quay in Hendvågen by the sheerleg 'Hebolift 9'. On July 23 the ship was back on even keel, still low in the water, so that pumping out could commence to make the ship lighter. On July 24 the ship was much out of the water, and on July 28 it was floating unassisted again, surrounded by an oil boom, with the sheerleg having completed its work. On Aug 3 the ' Torvang' was finally towed to Stokksund in order to be demolished. Salvage of wreck underway

The raising of the 'Torvang' at the quay in Averøy by the 'Hebolift 9'' was underway as of July 17, after the wreck had blocked the quay space of the company Henda Pukkfor for almost two months, This has resulted in extra transport costs amounting to 700,000 Norwegian crownsn, because the company could no longer use the own loading quay.
