Medevac off Lanzarote
A medical evacuation was carried out from the 'Viking Diamond', en route from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Tanger Med on Oct 4, 2022, 100 miles north of Lanzarote. The SAR helicopter Helimer 206 hoisted the sick crew member and transported him to the airport, where an ambulance was already waiting for the transfer to a hospital for further care.
Crew tackled robbers
On Jan 1, 2021, several perpetrators, armed with knives and clubs, boarded the 'Viking Diamond' while she was berthed at Casablanca. The crew, mostly from Odessa, successfully fought the robbers. When they fled, the police responded and arrived at the scene and ccaputred several of them. All crew members were reported safe. The ship which had arrived at Casablanca early on Jan 1, left on Jan 2 for orders towards the Alboran Sea.
Allision in Piraeus
The 'Viking Pegasus' was in allision with the ferry 'Express Pegasus' inside the new pier of Drapetsona in the night of May 27, 2020. The port department of Keratsini detained the vessels. The ferry suffered damage at the port side bridge cam. The incident did not cause injuries nor marine pollution. The port authority requested the presentation of class certificates in order to allow the departure of the ships.
