Engine cooling issue off Lowestorf
The 'West Bay', enroute from Ventspils to Lagos with 18 crew members on board, suffered a main engine cooling issue, 40 miles east-southeast of Lowestoft in position 52 19 16.2N, 002 50 40.8E, on Aug 27, 2020, at 06.45 a.m. The repairs took about 30 minutes to complete and the vessel resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Sep 9. It was carrying 4700 tonnes of bulk wheat as cargo.
Bulk carrier encountered engine trouble
The 'West Bay', en route from Hamburg to Nemrut, suffered a broken oil pump in the engine room in position 50 09 24.0 N, 1 53 55.8 W, on Sep 29, 2019. Repairs were completed at 9.45 p.m., and the vessel continued its voyage to its destination with an ETA as of Oct 9. The vessel was loaded with 32.000 tonnes of scrap metal.
