Around 20 Israeli fighter jets participated in the airstrike, targeting sites that were being used to support Houthi military activities. The targets included the port of Hodeidah and a cement factory near the port, which has been alleged to be used by the Houthis for the construction of tunnels.

FRONT EAGLE

Casualty

The tanker 'Adalynn' was in collision with the 'Front Eagle' near the Khor Fakkan Anchorage on June 16, 2025, at 9:14 p.m. UTC. The 'Front Eagle' was loaded and bound for Zhoushan. The unloaded 'Adalynn' had just departed the anchorage. On June 17 at 01.51 a.m. UTC, the 'Front Eagle' changed its status to Not Under Command. The impact resulted in a massive fire minutes after the collision, potentially caused by residual fuel, engine room, or cargo related ignition. The 'Adalynn' suffered severe structural damage, a fire could be extinguished. There were no reports so far about any casualties. The Coast Guard of the UAE National Guard evacuated the 24 crew members of the 'Adalynn', using search and rescue boats. The cause of the incident was not security-related, however, spoofing of GPS signals has made the area more prone to accidents lately. The Ukrainian government has accused the Adalynn of being involved in the export of Russian oil/oil products from the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga, as well as using deceptive practices such as disabling its AIS and conducting shady activities in the Kola Bay area in 2023 and 2024. The last laden voyage was from Ust-Luga in Sep 2024. It delivered 855,000 barrels of Urals crude to the Vadinar refinery on the west coast of India the following month. Since then, it has remained off the coast of the UAE and spent several months at the port of Duqm in Oman. The 'Front Eagle' has protection and indemnity cover with Steamship Mutual. The 'Adalynn' does not have cover from any of the 12 clubs that make up the International Group of P&I Clubs. The area of the collision has been designated a high-risk area where shipowners require additional cover from specialist war insurers, which take on responsibility for hull and P&I claims. A Russian ballistic missile strike on the port of Odessa in southern Ukraine killed four Syrian people and damaged a Barbados-flagged cargo ship, on the evening of June 34, 2025, shortly after Ukraine agreed to a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. At the time of the attack, the ship was loading wheat destined for Algeria. Russia thus continued attacking Ukraine's infrastructure, including ports that contribute to global food security.

MARATHON

Misc. for ports and Vessels

The 'Marathon', part of Russia’s shadow fleet, attempted to pass unnoticed through Estonia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) during nighttime hours in order to avoid possible interception and inspection. The vessel had no valid registration at the time, a fact that would have given Estonian authorities the legal grounds to board and detain the ship. The tanjer crossed the Baltic Sea between June 11 and 13, 2025. Before entering Estonian waters, the vessel slowed down significantly and remained nearly stationary for approximately 28 hours. It then sped through Estonia’s EEZ shortly before sunrise on June 13 at around 4:00 a.m. UTC. During the crossing, the 'Marathon' did not anchor or stop and proceeded directly toward Russia. No boarding or escort by Estonian authorities was observed. The ship’s extended delay and choice to transit before daylight strongly suggest the crew aimed to minimize their time in Estonian waters — particularly during daylight hours, when the risk of aerial surveillance or boarding by authorities is higher. The 'Marathon' did not speed up in areas where other vessels had previously been intercepted, indicating the crew likely timed their passage carefully rather than simply trying to rush through Estonian waters. The Estonian authorities had the right to stop the tanker. Though the ship broadcasted an AIS signal indicating it was flying the flag of Cameroon, it had in fact lost its registration with Djibouti after being sanctioned by the EU, leaving it effectively flagless. The 'Marathon'’s timing strongly suggested that it sought to avoid even the possibility of a compliant boarding by transiting at night and not anchoring, effectively removing the window for legal engagement. On June 15, the Marathon entered the port of Primorsk in Russia’s Leningrad Region, where its draft increased, presumably due to cargo being loaded. The vessel departed on June16, with its current listed destination as Port Said, Egypt. The 'Marathon' is under sanctions from the UK, EU, and Canada.

Novorossiysk

Casualty

A large-scale overnight drone strike by Ukraine struck Novorossiysk on May 3, 2025. damaging the country’s largest grain terminal and several apartment buildings. The attack triggered fires and forced authorities to declare a state of emergency in the port city, which is also home to the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Local authorities in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Krai confirmed that drones damaged three grain storage reservoirs at the KSK terminal, one of the region’s most important export facilities. The attack sparked a fire at the site. The terminal, which can store up to 220,000 tons of grain and handled over 10 million tons in 2024, is operated by the Moscow-based Delo Group.Delo Group, which assured that the terminal was continuing to function in line with internal procedures and guidance from authorities. Drone strikes had also caused fires in nearby areas, including Taman and Anapa. Russian electronic warfare systems had jammed the drones, causing them to fall into residential areas. Public transportation in Novorossiysk was suspended after the strikes, Drones also targeted the Rostov Oblast.

Bandar Abbas

Casualty

The fires caused by the huge explosion in the commercial port of Bandar Abbas on the morning of April 26 were still spreading two days later. Heat and fire detected by the NASA FIRMS system on the morning of April 29 still showed no signs of any retreat, with the area affected now having spread from the container park to the quays of the port itself. The firefighting services have been overwhelmed, even though reinforcements have been brought in from as far away as Tehran; two days after the initial explosion, some areas of the fire were not being tackled at all, and in other areas confused port workers who should have been evacuated were still wandering around or sheltering in empty containers in what was clearly still a dangerous area.
