The Swedish police expanded the investigation into the crew on board the 'Ali Aykin', which ran aground south of the Øresund Bridget. Early on May 26, 2025, the 'Shejyoti' was boarded by a group of 14 robbers, armed with local weapons, who attacked the vessel from a fishing trawler at Mongla Port in Bagerhat,They tied up the seven crew members, including the chief officer, and looted the ship for about two hours. The robbers stole crane grabs, wire ropes, engine bearings, fuel oil, supplies, and seven mobile phones. Three crew members were injured during the assault and received first aid through the shipping agent. It was the third such attack on the vessel, being the most significant, with stolen goods worth approximately Tk 50 lakh, The ship has been stranded at the port since June 22, 2024, due to a mechanical fault after unloading a cargo of stones from India. A written complaint has been filed with the Mongla Port Authority, Coast Guard, and other law enforcement agencies. An operation, supported by intelligence activities, was launched to recover the stolen goods and apprehend the robbers. The Mongla Port Authority was aware of the incident, and an investigation was in progress.

On May 24t, 2025, at 3.15 a.m. LT, an explosion and flashback occurred in the engine room of the 'Olivia', which was docked at Berth 11 of the South Port in Bluff. Three crew members were injured. They had been working on a boiler in the engine room at that time. They were provided with medical attention immediately. A small fire was extinguished by the crew before the arrival of the Fire and Emergency NZ with two crews from Bluff and Invercargill. Also the St. John Ambulance responded with one rapid response unit and two ambulances. More than one month after three crew members from the 'Seven Pearls' had been injured during the strikes on Houthi positions in the port of Ras Isa on April 17/18, 2025, the remainder of the Russian crew of the tanker has been evacuated. MSC ELSA 3
After the 'MSC Olga 3' sank off the Kerala coast, releasing over 100 containers, some filled with hazardous substances, and causing a significant oil spill, the Kerala authorities have issued a high alert on May 26 and were taking action to contain the spill. Current estimates suggested the fuel was drifting at approximately 3 km per hour. The Indian Coast Guard has confirmed a significant oil leak”and has deployed the ICG 'Saksham', ICG 'Samarth' and ICG 'SHakham' as well as a Dornier aircraft equipped with oil dispersants to manage the spill. The anti pollution vessel 'Samudra Prahari' has been mobilized from Mumbai to assist. The Indian Coast Guard, noting the potential hazards, advised mariners to remain vigilant, while the Chief Minister of Kerala convened a meeting to evaluate the crisis. Efforts to contain the oil spill involved deploying Coast Guard vessels and aircraft, with additional support en route from Mumbai. Public advisories urged caution, particularly around beached debris, emphasizing safety amid the ecological threat to Kerala's sensitive coastline. Coastal districts have been warned of possible environmental consequences. Fishermen are advised to stay ashore, while the public was cautioned against touching or approaching any drifting containers or oil slicks that may appear on the beaches. The ship was carrying 12 containers with around 250 tons of calcium carbide. As of May 26, a total of 29 containers have washed up along the Kerala coast. Of these, 27 containers have been found along the Kollam coast, while two have been located near Alappuzha. Most of the containers were empty, but some were marked yellow with visible plastic contents inside. Police have been deployed across the affected coastal areas to secure the sites and prevent public interference. The affected areas have been cordoned off by local officials, and the public is not allowed within 200 metres of the site to ensure safety. On the morning of May 27, containers were found along the coasts of Varkala, Anchuthengu, Ayroor, and Edaava in the Thiruvananthapuram district. Six migrants aboard two toy boats got in distress on May 26, about 25 nautical miles southwest of Cape Trafalgar, and alerted Salvamento Marítimo by telephone. The CCS Tarifa mobilized the 'Salvamar Enif' and issued navigational warnings. The boats were located by a merchant ship and an SAR aircraft .
