Astor will become Jules Verne in 2021
The 'Astor' will leave the Transocean fleet end of April 2021 and start sailing as 'Jules Verne' from Le Havre and Marseille starting in May for the new founded CMV France in Marseille, which, like Transocean, is a subsidiary of Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
Repairs of allision damage completed
The "Astor" finally left St. Nazaire on Sep 13 at 4.25 a.m. after repairs of the allision damage were completed by the specialized company Clemessy Services. The ship headed to Leixöes/Porto with an ETA as of 1.30 p.m. the same day. The call at A Coruña was skipped, and so the ship was now on schedule again.
Passengers flown home
As the repairs of the "Astor" in St. Nazaire were going on, the call at the CC in Bremerhaven on Sep 10 had to be cancelled. The 395 passengers whose cruise was scheduled to end there were taken to Bremen by two aircraft instead. They had been offered excursions in the region during the repair time and will be reimbursed. The ship remained stationary in the Penhoët basin on Sep 10 with scaffoldings having been erected and a mobile crane on site. On Sep 8 teams of the Clemessy Services, a subsidiary of the Eiffage group specializing in ship repair, had started the repair work which should be finished on Sep 11. The passengers of the next cruise to the Canary Islands which was expected to start on Sep 12 will also be transported to Saint Nazaire with aircrafts.
