Detention in Tilbury
The 'Astor' was detained by the MCA surveyors following an inspection at Tilbury docks on June 20, 2020. The surveyors found several expired and invalid Seafarers Employment Agreements, late payment of wages and crews who had been on board for over 12 months which breached the Maritime Labour Convention and hence the detention. The ship will remain detained until the breaches of the MLC are resolved, and the MCA invites it back in to reinspect.
Astor will become Jules Verne in 2021
The 'Astor' will leave the Transocean fleet end of April 2021 and start sailing as 'Jules Verne' from Le Havre and Marseille starting in May for the new founded CMV France in Marseille, which, like Transocean, is a subsidiary of Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
Repairs of allision damage completed
The "Astor" finally left St. Nazaire on Sep 13 at 4.25 a.m. after repairs of the allision damage were completed by the specialized company Clemessy Services. The ship headed to Leixöes/Porto with an ETA as of 1.30 p.m. the same day. The call at A Coruña was skipped, and so the ship was now on schedule again.News schreiben
