Passenger carrying tug ran aground following engine failure in Kiel
On Oct 15, 2012, around 6 p.m. the "Falckenstein“ ran aground off the Reventlou Pier in Kiel. The ship which was serving the Förde-route and was carrying passengers got stuck with slow speed due to engine trouble which kept it from being stopped in time. The master passed the pier and ran aground in a short distance of the sea promenade. The tug "Holtenau“ was called and pulled the disabled ship off the shallow and moored it at the Reventlou Pier where the passengers were disembarked. The "Falckenstein" was then towed to the SFK owned pontoon at the central railway station for surveys.News schreiben
