Disabled vessel towed to Patras anchorage
On Dec 4, 2014, the "Malmo" was disabled due to an engine failure south of Cefalonia Island in the Ionian Sea. The salvage company Tsavliris dispatched the tug "Hermes" from her station in Patras to the assistance of the cement laden vessel. The tug arrived at the position of the casualty on Dec 5, and a tow connection was established. The convoydproceeded towards Patras arriving at the anchorage on Dec 6. After the "Malmo" was moored, the "Hermes" returned to her base in Patras. By Dec 17, the "Malmo" was still anchored off the port.
