Cargo ship slammed into trawler

The "Abis Esbjerg" slammed into the side of the "Trui Uan Hinte - FD 283 (IMO: 8816120), on June 13, 2015, which was moored in the Willems Port of Harlingen when the cargo ship arrived from Swinoujscie at 7.43 p.m. Various emergency services including the local KNRM and the fire rescue came into action. The bulbous bow of the "Abis Esbjerg" had torn a hole of approximately 2x1 meters and several cracks at the height of the fish-hold. The "Cybernetica" went alongside at starboard side. Employees of BDS and the volunteers of the KNRM and the fire department in a joint action were able to stabilize the situation with various pumps and seal off the hold. The leak was covered with a steel hatch and two mattresses. Tugs were pumping out the fuel from the ship. At the time of the accident there was no one aboard. It was not ruled out that the wind was to blame for the accident.
